| Laurel, MD – Julu 2009 - Data Sciences, Inc.,
a leading provider of newspaper circulation software, is pleased
to announce that an agreement has been signed to install its DSI/Circulation,
DSI/WebCirc
and DSI/e-solicitor
software at the Tribune Company. The Tribune business unit selected
for the installation of the DSI circulation software will be The
Los Angeles Times. The progress and success of The Los Angeles Times
implementation will determine future Tribune property installations.
The agreement reinforces strong industry acceptance of the DSI system,
which was first introduced by Data Sciences in 1996. The system
is a true client/server implementation using Oracle’s relational
database with Microsoft Windows® and Browser based clients.
When asked why DSI was selected, Paul Mitnick – SVP Business
Applications and Ed Wolf – Managing Director, Tribune Technology
commented “The selection of DSI Circulation Software was a
cost effective solution to meet our current and future circulation
needs for Customer Service, Home Delivery, Distribution, Single
Copy Sales and Insert Management. DSI has a long history of developing
quality circulation software coupled with strong dedication to customer
service.”
DSI’s President Mark Ganslaw commented on the industry acceptance
of DSI/Circulation. “We are extremely pleased that the Tribune
Company has selected our circulation system for its Los Angeles
business unit. This is the fourth major newspaper group to do so,
which is a strong indication of how the newspaper publishing industry
views our product line. We’re looking forward to establishing
